Computer game magazine design

This is one of my 3 possible front covers i made for the project. Along with the front cover i also put the back page in because i wanted to show how they went together, unfortinatly the clouds on either side do not match. I want to go back and change it every time i see this but i have lost the raw file and can not.

For my final project on my graphics course i had a choice of 6 briefs ranging from magazine design to re-branding a product.. I chose to do a magazine, i also chose the subject matter of computer gaming. For the outcomes i made 3 different covers and two double page spreads that would feature in the magazine. I am please with the way the project turned out, the only problem i have with it is the issue with the front and back page not matching that i have already talked about.

Typeface design

I created a magazine cover advertising my font's

I also created a net design for a cd cover and a cd that would come free with the magazine

`This project is one i fell in love with from the begging, we had to design and create our own typeface and then place it in a real world context

Madness of Madness

For this project we had to pick a subject and make a collage image based on it in photoshop. We then had to add the images that we used and finaly write a set of instructions design to guide a novice in photoshop how to make it.

Isaac Newton medal

While studying on my 18+ foundation art course i had access to a workshop were i was able to make 3d objects and jewellery. This is a medal based on the scientist Isaac Newton. I wanted to stay away from the ovious option of the apple story, so instead i took the fact that he was a master of the royal mint and made a medal out of coins.

Winter gardens ring

Along with a medal based on Isaac Newton i also made a ring. They are a set of 3 rings that make a single ring, i have based them on the archs on the Winter gardens in Sheffield.

The Baltic website design

One of my project's was to create a website design showing the design of the site, we did not make an actual website we just created screenshot style images in photoshop. I chose the Baltic, an art gallery in Newcastle. Along with the shot of the website i have also included a mouse pointer to show what happens when parts of the site are looked at with the mouse, such as the information box that appears about each item in the shop.

photography

This is a tryptic of my brother holding an air rifle shot in the snow while wearing black clothing for a high contrast. The scene is shot using a black and white film camera that i later developed myself. Although the shots are of the same target and subject matter i feel that i have managed to make each unique by changing the pose or the focus.
